Empanadas y milagros

Buenas buenas! Whats up everyone! Hope you guys all had an awesome week! My week was so good! We had transfers on wednesday so i woke up super early to meet all the other missionaries in the city and picked up my new comp! Hermana beutler is the BEST and we have been some yappers this past week hahah! It took some getting used to working together but now we have hit a stride so its been so good!

We did a bunch of finding this week and it all seemed positive except none of them came to church on sunday which was so sad 😔 but prayers for next week!

We were able to go teach our favorite empanada workers Juan and Eva! They're so cutie and we have become good friends with them, and they seem so positive about the church! Apparently juan was baptized when he was a kid so hopefully we can find his records from columbia, pray for us 🤞 on sunday they invited us in their house and we got to talk as we watched eva make empanadas and lowkey I need her to teach me. Also when we said goodbye they gave us empanadas and wouldn't let us pay for them 🥹 they're genuinely some of my favorite people!

Also we had a CRAZY miracle this week! So we were pretty bummed that none of our friends came to church but then we see that a member brought a friend SCORE! so of course we go talk and his name is Johann, and he said he loved church and he lives in our area, hallelujah! We were able to stop by his house sunday night and teach him about baptism and Christ because that was his first time going to any church! I felt like i should ask if he had a desire to be baptized and continue going to our church and he does! So i extended my first baptism date all on my own and holy the gift of tongues is real, im sure it was not pretty and i probably repeated myself 100 times, but i was able to do it and he accepted!!! So pray for johann on august 30!! Im so so excited for him! Such a beautiful miracle!

Spiritual thought!!

This past week I have really been trying to find the joy in the work, not just finding joyful things to talk about as we walk, or finding joy thinking about home, but truly finding joy in the missionary work. I have such a strong desire to have this joy, but sometimes the work is just hard and the days seem long. So one day before my personal study I prayed asking to find more joy in the work. And then I started reading the book of mormon where I had left off the day before, and I just so happened to read Alma 27-29 and these chapter are literally all about alma and the joy he gets from serving God! These chapters were exactly what i needed to hear this week!

You guys God is so good. He listens to every prayer. He helps us during everyday. We dont always recognize the Lords hand in our day but we need to try because its there, its always there. I know that days are long and hard, but with the help of Christ we can find joy in the work, and if you dont believe me go read alma 27-29 for yourselves! I know God loves all of His children and is always helping us, we just need to see it!

I love you guys! Chao!

Dege ten no aidi

Hola! To fill you in on the title lol, the indigenous people here in panama are the kuna, think the mayan or aztec in mexico. Anyway the kuna have their own language and the women always dress a way and its so cool! Except we can't really teach them because we dont speak the same language haha. But our recent convert bernardo who is 67 speaks kuna! SO COOL! so one day i asked him to teach me some phrases and i was writing them down how they sound haha, so "dege ten no aidi" means "hello how are you?" But I'm sure its not spelt anything like that hahah, lots of giggles that night as i tried to spell it out.  In all reality though this week has definitely been the hardest so far on the mission, wayyy harder than the first week which i honestly didn't think was possible. My mission and especially my district is very very very focused on numbers and the amount of people we get baptized. This started really frustrated me this week because it felt like we were...

¡Hola! You guys this week was actually so peak! After I recovered from being sick it was on the up and up!  We got to teach again in spanish and this time it went so well! The first time we did it was muy mal but this time it was so good! We taught the cutest old lady and she was so patient with our spanish. We all totally felt the spirit and it got me so so excited to be a missionary out in the field!  We also got some super crazy rain Saturday night! We were studying, luckily under the canopy, and all the sudden it goes from nothing to dumping. So of course we took a break and ran around in the rain, but it was so much fun! I lovee the rain and it was def a core memory from the ccm. ALSO! I hit one month as a missionary on Saturday! It's so surreal because I feel like i just started but we're already a month through! And I leave for Panama next week! We have officially gotten unc at the ccm.  Also the lady in charge of special musical numbers came up to us and the other...
