The day of unfortunate events

 Holaa! This week was super short because we just had pday on wednesday hahah but its been good so lets get into it!

We have this recent convert named Bernardo and hes 67 and he's hilarious. He speaks a little english so in our lessons he'll always repeat what we say in spanish in english hahah. Anyway this week we were going over the temple recommend questions with him and he gets out a piece of paper to write them down so he doesn't forget lol. We were going over the law of chastity and all he writes down is "no sexy" and i absolutely DIED! I couldn't help myself and was just laughing for the rest of the lesson hahaha. So so funny! Also bernardo lives with his friend mayre, and she is a big evangelist so she doesn't want to get baptized but is always willing to take our service and feed us hahah! After this lesson with bernardo she wanted to feed us lunch so we were eating and then she gets out some marmalade she made and gets a big glob on a spoon and sticks the whole thing in her mouth and then after she's gotten some, made me try it off the same spoon and the same glob... so that was absolutely terrible and definitely not something i want to do again hahah

Ok one more story before the highlights! There's a 21 year old guy in our ward who got baptized at 17 and then went on his mission at 18! SO COOL! Anyway he's the goat but his mom still has not gotten baptized and he really wants her to, so at church on sunday he asks us if we could come visit her today so of course we said yes! They live at the far side of our area so to save money we took the bus straight from church over to that side. Usually after church we go home and eat lunch so we never bring our umbrellas or anything with us, but Sunday we decided to just push our lunch back. Anyway, we go up there and we teach her about temples and it was really good! But right as we left their house the loudest thunder of my life hit and all the sudden its dumping rain😀 and we don't have our umbrellas!! YAY! Oh and I'm wearing a white dress!! Such a good combo hahah! Anyway were drenched in about 2 seconds and had to walk for a while to find a taxi but finally did and luckily he was kind enough to take our soaking bodies! And then when we get home our powers out!! YES! so no food for us hahah but such a good time and definitely a core memory lol

✨️peoples pet parrots like to mock us when we buenas their houses hahah
✨️went and contacted at the top of the hill in our area
✨️Peoples crazy dogs following us around and getting crazy aggressive
✨️I heard if you pretend to pick up a rock to throw at the dogs theyll chill out, so we tried it and it went away for 2 seconds before coming back even more aggressive 
✨️A bunch of our recent converts got to go to the temple on saturday🥹 
✨️One of our recent converts told us hes already on 1 nephi 18 in the book of mormon! That made me so happy

🔥spiritual thought🔥
This week I read in alma 5:37 and it is such a good verse ! It says "a shepherd hath called after you and is still calling after you" 
We all have jesus christ as a shepherd, looking for all of His sheep to come home. He has called out to each of us, and even when we dont listen, He continues to call after us. Jesus truly is the good shepherd and He won't stop calling after us until we follow Him! Christ is in relentless persuit of you! Don't forget it!

Hola! To fill you in on the title lol, the indigenous people here in panama are the kuna, think the mayan or aztec in mexico. Anyway the kuna have their own language and the women always dress a way and its so cool! Except we can't really teach them because we dont speak the same language haha. But our recent convert bernardo who is 67 speaks kuna! SO COOL! so one day i asked him to teach me some phrases and i was writing them down how they sound haha, so "dege ten no aidi" means "hello how are you?" But I'm sure its not spelt anything like that hahah, lots of giggles that night as i tried to spell it out.  In all reality though this week has definitely been the hardest so far on the mission, wayyy harder than the first week which i honestly didn't think was possible. UN MES!

¡Hola! You guys this week was actually so peak! After I recovered from being sick it was on the up and up!  We got to teach again in spanish and this time it went so well! The first time we did it was muy mal but this time it was so good! We taught the cutest old lady and she was so patient with our spanish. We all totally felt the spirit and it got me so so excited to be a missionary out in the field!  We also got some super crazy rain Saturday night! We were studying, luckily under the canopy, and all the sudden it goes from nothing to dumping. So of course we took a break and ran around in the rain, but it was so much fun! I lovee the rain and it was def a core memory from the ccm. ALSO! I hit one month as a missionary on Saturday! It's so surreal because I feel like i just started but we're already a month through! And I leave for Panama next week! We have officially gotten unc at the ccm.  Also the lady in charge of special musical numbers came up to us and the other...

The Sistrikt

Hola friends! I've officially made it to the MTC, I got here on Thursday! And it's officially my first P-day in the Mexico MTC (the CCM)! To give you some context about the subject, one of our elders in our district couldn't come because he got sick, so then the other elder had to get transferred out because he needed a comp, so we are officially a district of all hermanas! Also in the welcome presentation they were going through the rules and it said "do not stik stikers" and we all thought the spelling was funny so the sistrikt was born!  Honestly though the CCM has been great! It's definitely hard and they expect a lot from us, especially our spanish, but it definitely helps me to keep practicing and keep learning! We have two classes a day and we like to ask our teachers about their dating lives because apparently there is a lot of dating between teachers here so we got our teacher talking about it for the first 30 minutes of class and it was great hahaha!...
