Keep the Sabbath day STRESSFUL?
hola hola! Another week in panama and this week honestly FLEW! so so fast but it was so good!
We had some really good lessons this week but we taught alexis and ana a cute old married couple and you guys this has def been my most favorite lesson yet! I know i haven't been out for long but it was awesome! We taught them the restoration which can really go one of two ways but luckily they LOVED it! They thought it made so much sense and that this is how Jesus would want his church! YAYYY! at the end of the lesson I had a slight impression to give them a book of mormon but I was little hesitent because its our last one and i didnt want to say anything but after the prayer my comp offered them a book of mormon so she def had the same thought which is so so cool! The spirit works so strongly! We both left that lesson on a high and both thought that they're going to be great! Also they invited us over for dinner some time which is so nice!
Ok let me get into the bulk of the week it was nuts. We were supposed to have 4 baptisms this Sunday! Friday night we got a call that someone else wanted to get baptized so we were going to have 5 yay! Then by Saturday night 3 had fallen so that was super sad, but then Sunday morning 2 were back on! No one warns you for how stressful Sundays are in the mission, we were running around before church trying to get everything ready for these last minute baptisms and then pick up our friends for church. A whole family came with us to church yay! Except they were not ready when we went to pick them up so we waited for like 40 minutes and then the bus was crazy late and we ended up not getting on the bus until 9:30 and church starts at 9 soo I hated that so much, you all know how much I hate being late so it was horrible. Oh also I failed to mention it's a 40 minute bus ride to church, so we made it with like 35 minutes left of church so it was so bad. And then we had to get everything ready for the baptisms and find clothes for the last minute girl who was getting baptized and it was atrocious. Let's just say this Sunday was not a day of rest hahah, but we ended up having 4 baptisms so it was a good day!
Some highlights/funny times - buying pan van for the kids we teach
- eating said pan van snacks on the side of the road waiting for them to come back outside
- getting absolutely SOAKED in a rainstorm, literally the rain was going sideways
- watching people cut their grass with machetes
- jehovah witness tracking us down just to test our bible knowledge
- the kids wanted me to pray in english and seriously struggled, its been a bit since doing that
- got wicked burnt and had go explain to some kids why my skin is red in my very broken spanish
- salchipapas! The panamanian loaded fry with hot dogs and about every condiment imaginable
- Also I'm getting kankels???
Spiritual thought! This week was so hectic but so rewarding. My favorite way to start the day is listening to conference talks as i get ready and this week i listened to one called "but if not" and you guys its so good! It talks a lot about if God doesn't answer your prayers how you're hoping, theres something else coming, and we have to have the faith to get the answer we don't want. I feel like this applies to the mission a lot because we always have a way we want things to happen, but we need to remember that God has a greater plan, and we need to have the faith to follow him.
I love you guys! Chao!
